General information about the host party:

The landlord’s festival is held every year on the third Sunday in July. The highlight of the event is the Moos water procession on Monday. Boats decorated with wreaths of flowers come rowing across Lake Constance early in the morning at around 8.15 am and are welcomed by hundreds of people in Radolfzell. Afterwards, the Mooser Hausherrenamt takes place in the ULF Minster.

Theopont, Senesius and Zeno – the three Radolfzell landlords are the namesakes of the landlord festival.

Originally of a purely Christian nature, the Radolfzell Hausherrenfest has developed over the years into a festival with many secular aspects. Numerous associations organize a colourful programme for young and old at this event together with the cultural office of the town of Radolfzell. Concerts, a children’s program and culinary delights attract numerous people to the shores of Lake Constance in Radolfzell year after year.

On Friday, the kindergartens of the Roman Catholic parish of St. Radolt will honor the Holy House Lords in a procession at 5 pm.

On Saturday, the Radolfzell aid organizations will give an insight into their skills in a demonstration exercise. This will take place at 3 p.m. in front of the music school.

At 4.45 p.m. on the dot, the loud sound of firecrackers and the bells of the cathedral signal the start of the Radolfzell Hausherrenfest. At 8.15 pm, the festival is ceremoniously opened by Lord Mayor Simon Gröger. This is followed by a gala concert by the Radolfzell music school’s youth wind orchestra.

Landlord Sunday

Landlord’s Sunday starts again at 6 a.m. with gunfire. At 8 a.m., the ringing of the large landlord’s bell followed by the tower blowing, a musical morning call from the town band, sets the mood for the festive day.

The ringing-in ceremony is followed at 9 a.m. by the official opening of the market square.

This is immediately followed by an impressive procession through Radolfzell town center with the precious relics of the three patrons Theopont, Senesius and Zeno, accompanied by the town band, to ask for blessings and prosperity for the town.

From 11.30 am, the stalls of the Radolfzell clubs will open on the waterfront promenade and the concert sail. In addition to the refreshments, there will be musical entertainment from 11.45 am at the concert sail and from 12.30 pm at the pier. Several ensembles from the music school, the Stadtkapelle Radolfzell, the BrasserZ Böhringen, the Seegauner and the band Hearts on Fire will be performing. The festive evening on Sunday opens at 8.00 pm. After a varied program of individual regional clubs, the Holzhauermusik Radolfzell will provide good entertainment before and after other highlights of the evening, such as a gondola parade, sailing defilade and a silent fireworks display over Lake Constance (approx. 10.50 pm) (end approx. 1 am).

Landlord Monday

The Monday of the hosts begins at 8.15 a.m. with the traditional Moos water procession, which arrives at the Radolfzell pier with beautiful boats decorated with flowers. Immediately after the Moos High Mass in the cathedral, guests have the opportunity to enjoy lively brass music from the Hannoken sextet at the concert sail from 10.30 a.m.
At 11.30 a.m., the catering on the pier and the lakeside promenade begins, as well as the musical accompaniment to the festival.

The children’s program starts at 3 p.m. at the concert sail, organized by children’s and youth groups from Radolfzell (until 5.30 p.m.).

The entertainment evening at the harbor pier with Nicole Scholz starts at 7.30 pm. At the concert sail, The Rockpack will ensure a good atmosphere on the last day of the festival from 8.00 pm.

General safety instructions

For visitors to the Hausherrenfest 2025, which takes place from 18 to 21 July 2025, there are also various safety instructions to be observed this year. Cyclists should bear in mind when planning their route that the Lake Constance cycle path running past the Konzertsegel will be diverted through the city during the event. Please also note that bicycles may not be taken onto the festival grounds during festival operations on Sunday, 20.07.2025, from 11.00 am to 01.30 am, and on Monday, 21.07.2025, from 10.00 am to 0.30 am. This does not apply to cyclists who need to get to a local boat to continue their route. For revelers who ride their bikes to the festival, there are plenty of bicycle parking spaces outside the grounds.

The culture team would also like to point out that bag checks may be carried out at the entrances to the festival site for security reasons. Carrying glass bottles and weapons of any kind as well as bags, rucksacks and suitcases larger than 40 x 40 centimeters is prohibited.

Please also note that dogs are not permitted on the festival grounds.

Even before the start of the festival, some park benches will be dismantled between Monday, 14.07.2025 and Sunday, 20.07.2025 for the installation of the festival tents on Karl-Wolf-Straße between the concert sail and the station underpass.

Noisy events

Visitors can look forward to numerous program items during the event period. The Radolfzell town council would like to point out that some of the open-air events will be noisy. The events with music can last until midnight and 1 a.m. – the city administration asks for your understanding!
